A little further way to the Shimanami Kaido Expressway

The Nishiseto Expressway, widely known as the Setouchi Shimanami Kaido Expressway,
links Onomichi, Hiroshima Prefecture, with Imabari, Ehime Prefecture.
It's a 60 kilometer-long highway exclusively for automobiles that links the islands of the Seto Inland Sea
with nine individual bridges. The longest one is called Kurushima Ohashi (gigantic bridge).

Each bridge consists of a road way and a pedestrian walkway. That enables people to enjoy the sea breeze
when they walk or cycle on the bridge. Also you can enjoy breathking sceneries of islands, ferry and fishing
boats as well as giant tankers sailing below. The Shimanami Kaido offers a great environment for a fantastic
cycling experience.Bicycles are available for rental at the both end of the expressway.
The rental charge is 500 yen. As for the location of rental cycle, see the link in the homepage..

You can rent a bike at a shop very close to the both side of the bridges of Ehime and Hiroshima.

Here are some pictures I took of the bridges, islands, pedestrian way and so on.
